United States of America: Introduction to Human-Centered Design Workshop

Human-centered design is a creative problem solving approach that begins with the people you are designing for and ends with solutions tailored to their needs. It is fast-becoming a critical process for any organization engaged in social change and international development work.

This five hour in-person workshop will provide a basic introduction to key elements of the approach through a series of practical and hands-on exercises. It will present existing design thinking models from organizations like Stanford Design School, IDEO, and Catapult Design.

A virtual workshop will take place the following day (October 11th) and will utilize a variety of techniques to engage users.

SCHEDULE:

• Light breakfast and coffee will be served from 9:30 - 10:00am
• The workshop will kickoff at 10:00am, with a 15 minute break at 11:45
• Lunch will be served from 1-2pm
